  4. We send your certificate within 24 hours of completing the course, usually much sooner.

  5. We will e-mail you minutes after sending your certificate to advise you exactly when and how it was sent.We offer FedEx for overnight delivery too.

  6. Motorsports Market Bulls Eye: These bulls eye symbols are located throughout the course materials to indicate key pieces of information dealers should know and take advantage of. These could be important new rules, pending legislation, tax tips, traps to avoid, helpful tools used by the world's leading auto manufacturers to improve customer retention, increase referrals, improve CSI scores, and much more. Look for them.

  7. Main Rules Are In Bold Print: The main rules the DMV wants you to know are highlighted in bold print throughout the course. This makes it much easier to find and remember these rules.

  8. You can stop and start our course as often as you like, even shutting off your computer, and never lose your place. Just click on the special link we e-mail you when you start the course, and it will always take you back to where you last left off in the course.

  9. Our course is easy and fun to read with many entertaining illustrations, and photos. We also provide valuable links and a frequently asked questions & answers section

  10. Videos We are the first course to offer videos. They are placed throughout our course materials. Some are informative, and some are pure entertainment to insure you enjoy the course experience as you learn. The videos are not required, but they are quite interesting and very entertaining. Click on a few and enjoy!

  11. Access to our continuously updated course materials 24 hours a day, 7 days a week at no additional charge. This is far superior to home study CD's, books, or downloads which are outdated as soon as they are created. You can also use our exclusive MotorsportsMarket.com Search Engine™ to find answers to your dealer questions anytime

  12. You cannot fail. We do not require you to take a test at the end of the course like other schools. Instead we provide you a few, short, multiple choice questions at the end of each section - before you forget or get confused with too much information. Even if you answer a question incorrectly, our special automated system takes you right back to where the correct answer is. You see the correct answer, change your old answer, and move on. It's that simple.

  13. Tech Support: If you have any questions, or need help at any point, you can contact our in-house webmaster, Jim Parent, by e-mail at webmaster@motorsportsmarket.com. You can also call him on his direct line from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at 925-943-1032

Continuing Education Requirements & Exemptions

Every two years, all used motor vehicle dealers must complete a Continuing Education program live, or on-line, of not less than four hours that offers instruction on the subjects prescribed by the State of California and the Department of Motor Vehicles in order to maintain or renew that license. [V.C. §11704.5]

Exemptions:

  1. A dealer is not required to complete the educational program if the educational program is completed by a managerial employee of the dealer who is also a licensed salesperson.
  2. Motorcycle-only dealers, and/or any employee of that dealer.
  3. A wholesale only dealer who sells 49 or fewer vehicles in a year. This is measured by the number of vehicles you sold in the past year. This exemption is valid for the one year term of your license and must be re-applied for with each renewal.
  4. Trailer-only dealers, and/or any employee of that dealer
  5. To claim an exemption, you must file a Continuing Education Exemption Application (OL-257) form with the Occupational Licensing Renewal Unit. The Exemption Application must be filed before your current license expires, but not more than 90 days prior to the expiration of your license.

Course Description

The course consists of eight sections. At the end of each section are five questions for you to answer based upon what you just read. When you get all five correct, you can move on to the next section until you finish. It's that simple. You can go as fast, or as slow, as you like. Don't worry about getting wrong answers. If you do, the computer will automatically point you back to the exact section where you can find the correct answer. You then correct your answers and move onto the next section.

If you need to take a break during the class, or shut down your computer while in the middle of the class, don't worry. As soon as you register and begin the course, you will automatically receive an e-mail with a special link in it. Whenever you wish to return to the course, open your e-mail and click on the link. It will take you right back to wherever you last left off. This way no time is lost, and it gives you maximum flexibility as to when and where you take the class.

Cost

The cost for the class is just $50.00. This is a substantial savings over the live classes, in addition to the time and money saved by not having to travel to and from a live class. You also get to take the class when you want, where you want, and at the pace you want.

The Student Must be the Dealer or Manager with a Salesperson's License

The class must be taken by either the dealer, or a manager at the dealership that currently holds a salesperson's license. If you are a manager with a salesperson's license you will be asked to provide your salesperson's license number and expiration date at the conclusion of the class to receive credit. The dealer does not need to have a salesperson's license number to receive credit.

When do you get the Certificate of Completion?

When you complete the course, we receive instant notification at our office. We will mail your Certificate of Completion within 24 hours at the latest, usually much sooner. We deliver mail to the U.S. Post Office multiple times per day to insure you receive your certificate as soon as possible.

Federal Express overnight delivery is also available for an additional fee of $30.00. You can indicate your request for FedEx shipping when you sign up for the class. We will provide you the tracking number by e-mail.
